Duration of BPT :  

The Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) duration is 4 ½ years followed by 6 months internship. 

Eligibility for BPT admission :

Candidates for admission to the BPT course must have individually passed the Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English subjects. They must have obtained not less than 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in the qualifying examination. Regarding candidates from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, or Category I, the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in the qualifying examination are not less than 35% instead of 35% as above.

BPT Admission in Maharashtra

  1. We have 2 types of colleges in Maharashtra – Deemed Universities and colleges under MUHS.
  2. For Deemed universities – admission is done through their entrance exam.
  3. For MUHS Colleges – Admission is done through NEET score.
  4. Fees in Deemed universities from 2 lakhs to 7 lakhs per year.
  5. Fees in MUHS colleges are from 1.25 lakhs to 6 lakhs per year.

Is the BPT Course good for girls students?

BPT (Physiotherapy) is one the most demanding courses for girls students due to its working pattern and vast career options. It’s very good for girls to join any orthopedic surgeon or doctor as a consultant or have their clinic where they can go just 3–4 hr. In a day or 2–3 hr in the evening time. They can also open their clinic and can earn a handsome salary.  A physiotherapist plays an important role for pregnant lady patients. If a pregnant lady goes for regular physiotherapy then their chances for normal delivery increase and they get safe from surgery.

We have witnessed that almost 70% to 80% total strength of the Physiotherapy department are girls students. A Physiotherapist doctor can earn an average salary of 6 lakhs to 8 lakhs in India.

FAQ – BPT Admission, Fee Structure, Eligibility, Career, and Colleges:

1. Is BPT ( Bachelor of Physiotherapy) is Paramedical course?

BPT is not a Paramedical course. It is a professional medical course like BDS or MBBS. We can’t consider a bachelor of physiotherapy as a technician course, it is a professional course.

2.  Is BPT a Doctor?

Yes, Physiotherapists are doctors and they can use the prefix of Dr. before their name. We have BPT ( 4.5 years) + MPT ( 2 years) + Doctoral degree ( 3 years).

3. Is NEET is compulsory for Admission to BPT?

No, as of government rule, NEET is compulsory for MBBS, BDS, and AYUSH courses. NEET is not required for BPT. You can take direct admission in Bachelor of Physiotherapy based on your 12th marks. For more details contact @ 9113975816.

As we all know, Bangalore is considered a hub of education, and the climate and environmental conditions also make it favorable for studies. The course and syllabus are monitored by Rajiv Gandhi Health and Science University, one of the largest universities in Asia. The fee structure of course is also a factor for giving preference to Bangalore colleges. In Bangalore, fees start from Rs 65000 per year which is comparatively very low. One more factor is the Admission process. NEET is not required for BPT admission in Bangalore. Any students having more than 45% in PCB (12th ) can directly take admission.

7. Why Physiotherapy is better than Nursing or pharmacy?

Physiotherapy is a better career option than nursing or Pharmacy.
