BPT is a "Doctor" degree course, which means after completing the course you can use Dr. as a prefix before your name. You are eligible to open your own clinic. Apart of own clinic, you can go for both private and government job. As the Indian government has announced that almost more than 1 lakh vacancies will come in government hospitals (ie district hospital, an army hospital, railway hospital and etc.). So being a Physiotherapist you have good chances of getting a job in the government sector.

Is BPT good for Girl students?

Duration of Bachelor of Physiotherapy:
The duration of the Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) is 4 years followed by 6 months internship.
Eligibility for BPT:
Candidates for admission to the BPT course must have passed individually in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English and must have obtained not less than 45% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in the qualifying examination. In respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, or Category I, the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology together in the qualifying examination is not less than 40% instead of 45% as above.
Job scope and opportunities for BPT:
- Can work as a Physiotherapist. Physiotherapists have to deal with patients suffering from physical deformities.
- Sports is also a good area where Physiotherapists can build a career.
- Consultant for old age people. As age goes old muscles and bones related problem comes naturally.
- Rehabilitation specialist. Patients, who’ve had surgeries (such as neurosurgery, cardiac surgery, broken bone surgeries, and fractures)
are subject to rehabilitation after the surgery. - Physiotherapists are also recruited by Private clinics, Government hospitals, Private and Government Nursing homes, Community Health

After completion of the fourth year examination students have to go for 6 months internship. This covers all departments equally such as Orthopedics, Neurology, General Surgery, General Medicine, and Physiotherapy.

1. Is BPT ( Bachelor of Physiotherapy) is Paramedical course?
BPT is not a Paramedical course. It is a professional medical course like BDS or MBBS. We can't consider a bachelor of physiotherapy as a technician course, it is a professional course.
2. Is BPT a Doctor?
Yes, Physiotherapists are doctors and they can use the prefix of Dr. before their name. We have BPT ( 4.5 years) + MPT ( 2 years) + Doctoral degree ( 3 years).
3. Is NEET is compulsory for Admission in BPT?
No, as of government rule NEET is compulsory for MBBS, BDS, and AYUSH courses. NEET is not required for BPT. You can take direct admission in Bachelor of Physiotherapy based on your 12th marks.
4. Is Physiotherapy a good career?
Yes, Physiotherapy is one of the most demanding courses in the medical field nowadays. This is because of the wide range of career options available. Nowadays this is one of the best career options selected by girls. 6. Why students prefer Bangalore colleges for BPT more than Maharashtra colleges?

The course and syllabus are monitored by Rajiv Gandhi health and science university, one of the largest universities in Asia. The fee structure of course is also a factor for giving preference to Bangalore colleges. In Bangalore, fees start from Rs 65000 per year which is comparatively very less. One more factor is the Admission process. NEET is not required for BPT admission in Bangalore. Any students having more than 45% in PCB (12th ) can directly take admission.
7. Why Physiotherapy is better than Nursing or pharmacy?
