WHAT IS B.Ed

Bachelors of Education, also known as B.Ed., is a 2 year full-time course that is essential for candidates who are interested to pursue a career in teaching and related fields. Few colleges even offer this as distance learning or correspondence course which too is of 2 years. The course gives professional training to both art and science subject students from the teaching point of view. 

B.Ed is mandatory for all those who want to pursue teaching in primary and secondary schools. National Council for Teacher Education is a governing body which delegates and regulates programs in teaching across the country.

It's syllabus is framed to meet the psychological temper of the students and also focus on various educational methods of teaching.

ELIGIBILITY OF B.Ed

QUALIFICATION: Applicants need to complete their graduation in any stream (Science, Commerce or Arts) in order to fulfill eligibility criteria along with a min 50% aggregate marks.

AGE LIMIT: There is no upper limit. However, some colleges require applicants to be min 19 years in age.

CAREER OPTIONS & OPPORTUNITIES

After completion of B.Ed, one can become teacher at the primary, secondary and senior secondary levels in private schools. For Gov organizations, national- or state-level teacher eligibility tests need to be cleared.

One can also work in coaching centers, education consultancies, home and private tuitions. Salary offered to the graduates has a range from 2L - 3L annually. With experience, package shall be up to 5L - 7L annually.

Aspirants who wish to get into research field, also pursue M.Ed, M.Phil and P.H.D. These are reputed jobs and offer a great salary packages.
